Pupils design Health and Safety posters to promote safety on site

  • 30th November 2018

We have been working in partnership with local school George Washington Primary to help raise awareness of potential dangers on and around our Highfields Manor development, which is located opposite the school.

We believe it is important to consider the local area in which we develop and therefore arranged a health and safety assembly with a large group of key stage two pupils. The assembly was presented by our Head of Health and Safety and Site Manager and consisted of a short presentation highlighting the dangers on site alongside tips on how to stay safe around the site. The presentation was followed by a video which showed the pupils real life dangers and consequences of playing on a building site. Following this a drawing competition of the dangers of a construction site was created to further engage with the pupils and reinforce the important safety messages. The winning entry as well as all other posters can be seen on-site opposite the school.

Our Highfields Manor development is currently underway to provide 56 3 and 4 bedroom homes, which are due to all be completed by the end of 2020.We felt it was extremely important to spread the message from the off-set on site and we will continue to work with the school to ensure the safety of the pupils is a priority on our site safety agenda.
