Gentoo Homes new senior team

Here at Gentoo Homes, a series of new appointments have been made to take the business forward, with Anthony Lowther being appointed as our new Managing Director.

Anthony, who is an accountant by trade, had spent the last 17 years of his career working in various roles at Gentoo, including most recently as Deputy Director and Interim Managing Director of Gentoo Homes.

Joining Anthony as part of a new look senior management team is Dan Levington and David Thomas, who have been appointed as our Construction Director and Technical Director respectively.

Dan Levington joins with a wealth of construction industry knowledge and experience, having spent more than 15 years working for a range of house builders, including Barratt Homes, Story Homes, Miller Homes and Taylor Wimpey. Dan started his career in house building as a bricklayer before moving into site management and then more recently working as a Contracts Manager where he oversaw the construction of around 250 homes per year.

Completing the new look team is David Thomas, who has been appointed as Technical Director having joined in 2013 as Head of Technical and Commercial. David has been a key figure in Gentoo Homes’ recent success, including helping to oversee the successful planning application for its flagship Cottier Grange scheme in the Tyne Valley.

Speaking of Anthony’s appointment, Gentoo Homes’ Chair, Colin Blakey, said:

“I’m delighted to announce the appointment of Anthony Lowther as Gentoo Homes’ new Managing Director following a competitive recruitment process. Anthony has a significant amount of experience working in housing development and has the right blend of skills, knowledge, commercial acumen and social purpose required to be successful in the role. I’m hugely confident he will continue to take the business forward as we remain committed to helping meet the housing needs of local people in the North East.”

Anthony added:

“I’m really thrilled to have been appointed on a permanent basis and am equally happy to have Dan and David as part of the new look team. I’m lucky to have a great team behind me and am really pleased with the progress the business has made over the last year. With 68% of the sales target for 2018/19 already secured, there remains strong demand across all of our developments, in addition to securing a three year land pipeline. We remain committed to delivering an outstanding product for our customers and look forward to continuing to supply the region with high quality new homes.”
