We have recently made a financial contribution through our Community Fund to Hetton School's annual Christmas party which took place on Tuesday 17th December. Hetton School have hosted this event for over thirty years, which is attended by some the community's older residents and their carers.

The Community Fund donation has been used to provide Christmas lunch and an afternoon of entertainment. Hetton School aims to have community at the heart of their activities and by working with and supporting the older community it is helping the local area thrive.

The school is built on the three words of 'Respect, Learn & Achieve' which ties in well with the guests at the party. Headteacher Craig Knowles said,

"It is crucial we respect each other and as a society we should judge ourselves on how we respect those that have become our elderly dependants. Our students can learn so much from older generations and, as they prepare and serve them, they can learn more about themselves."

Craig is grateful to Gentoo Homes for their support towards the local community. He went on to say,

"We should celebrate all that our guests have achieved through their lives and, especially at this time of year, give thanks to them for all they have given us. We are sure that everyone will have a great time and enter into the Christmas spirit thanks to Gentoo Homes."

We are currently building an exclusive collection of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes on our Bramblewood development, located off Houghton Road in Hetton-le-Hole just a five minute drive from the school.

Our Community Fund was created to enable local people to improve their community by supporting a range of different causes in the areas we build our developments. For more information on the Community Fund visit: www.gentoohomes.com/community-fund.
