Gentoo Homes supports Durham County U9's Football Team
We are proud to announce that we have recently made a financial contribution through our Community Fund to Durham County U9's Football Team. The team is part of Durham County FC, a non-profit organisation bringing the local community together and making football in the area accessible for all ages. The U9's team is a newly formed addition to the club with the majority of players residing in Lanchester and the surrounding areas of County Durham.
The Community Fund donation was used to purchase a set of bespoke football strips which the team showcased at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium during their match against Stoke City on the 20th December 2019. They participated in the flag parade to welcome supporters to the pitch and were greeted by members of Middlesbrough and Stoke City Football Clubs to present the ‘No to Racism’ flag during the opening of the game.
Amy Armstrong, the team Secretary, is grateful to Gentoo Homes for their support and said,
“The team had a fantastic evening at the match and wore their new Gentoo Homes strips with pride. They also ended their busy week with a visit to St. James’ Park, home of Newcastle United Football Club, where they had a special stadium tour. Further to this they featured in the Middlesbrough FC programme on Boxing Day proudly wearing their new Gentoo Homes uniform.”
Our donation was funded by our development Lanchester Rise which is located 8 miles from Durham City centre. We are currently building an exclusive collection of luxury 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes located off Howden Bank just north of Lanchester village, DH7 0QS.
The Community Fund was created to enable local people to improve their community by supporting a range of different causes in the areas we build our developments. For more information on the Community Fund visit: www.gentoohomes.com/community-fund.
